Working with Nature

Flavourfresh favours a combination of the latest growing techniques and the more traditional plant management methods.  This honest, straightforward approach brings dividends both in yields and environmental impact, avoiding any detrimental effects on the consumer or the natural environment.

Biodiversity

We owe a debt of gratitude to our colonies of bees, dedicated to pollination every day, all year round.  Surrounding our glasshouses, the fields are filled with wildflowers, enhancing the biodiversity of the local area.

Compost Recycling

After our coir substrate’s first use, this is used again by local farmers, landscaping and compost firms, as well as other growers in the immediate community.  All material is 100% biodegradable.

Electric Vehicles

The Maintenance Team’s van fleet is being updated to electric vehicles, enabling efficient and environmentally-conscious journeys from site to site.

Harnessing Nature

The Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programme enables the most natural of pest control strategies by harnessing the benefits of insects in tandem with the use of soft chemicals.
